Quick Update and Late-Semester Woes

Hey! First of all, I just want to say hello to the few new people who have been reading and leaving a couple comments. Welcome! I'm so glad you are here!

Haha. how cheesy am I? Anyways, seriously, I'm so glad people are finally finding this blog and enjoying reading it. It makes keeping it up twice as fun!

So, after the anti-health explosion that is halloween, stew and I have really been trying to get into a healthier lifestyle. After I posted my workout routine yesterday, he read it and said he might want to do it with me. Yay! Someone to motivate me to get up at 7 am and workout. We have also been trying to organize other aspects of our lives as well, like money and living situations. We both really want to move out of our apartments and find a place either together just the two of us or a place where we can interview additional roommates and make sure we are living with people we are compatible with. It's not that we're not friends with our current roommates, it's just that I think both of us like to have our living spaces in a certain way and the way we have them now is NOT working. Also... I'd love to have my kitchen be MY kitchen, where stew and I cook and no one else... where there is my own fridge full of just our food, all the messes are made and immediately cleaned up by us, and the dishes are always done. I guess I'm kind of weird in that I really need for everything to be clean, but it's just the way I am!

Hopefully stew and I will be able to look into moving to a new place next semester, and if not then, our leases only last until May. There have been a lot of other things going on these days though, and I am STRESSED! I both love and detest this time of the year... when you know that the semester is almost over, but you also know there is a whole lot of work separating you from right now and the freedom of winter vacation. I think I'm also reaching that sophomore slump period where I just feel so DONE with college. Enough already, I just want to graduate and move on with my life! It's not that I don't enjoy school, I think it's that I don't enjoy how much of my time it takes up and how many annoying people I have to deal with. I also feel like I'm much, much more cut out for a work environment, where I can interact with my coworkers and feel like I'm doing something productive. Sitting in lecture doesn't feel productive. Oh, well, I suppose that's just how college is and I'm just going to have to get through it. I'm almost halfway done... and lord knows these semesters zip by. I'll be graduating before I know it. I'm just so excited to be in the point of my life where I've established a career I love, I'm picking a place and home to settle down in, and I'm preparing to start a beautiful family. I know people say that the high school/college years are the best years of your life, but I think I will enjoy the post college years more. I guess we'll see :)

The point I was going to get to, though, was that thinking about all the crap I have to do in the next five weeks/next 2.5 years can really bog me down and keep me from thinking about what's really important- the big picture! I know that very soon all this stuff is going to seem trivial and SO not a big deal. It's just some stuff I have to get through, and once I do it will be over. That's one of my favorite rules to live by... "You do it, and then it's done". Whenever there's something unpleasant or annoying or scary that I have to do, I just think, "Ok, I'm just going to do this, and then it will be done" and once it is, I move on and don't worry about it anymore! It's really helped me get through some difficult times. I just always remember that there are always good things to come as soon as the nasty stuff gets out of the way :)

Well this ended up much longer than I expected it to and now I have to zip off to astronomy class! Have a wonderful thursday lovies, I will see you later tonight/tomorrow!
